The Spark of an Idea
Hinterland Business Centre (HBC) is a community owned asset serving Maleny and the communities of the Hinterland. As a Small Business Incubator, HBC provides rural located businesses with start-up advice and services, easy-in easy-out rental for growth focussed businesses transitioning between home and commercial premises, and access to learning in a commercially focussed environment.
What We Do
- We manage a centre where Sunshine Coast hinterland businesses can be catalysed and continued
- We manage meeting rooms for training, short courses, small conferences, and creative conversations
- We can put you in touch with someone who can help you grow your business in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland
- We run functions and events that bring Sunshine Coast Hinterland business people together
- We manage a data base of businesses and industries that are connected to the Blackall Range
Our Logo
We have adopted a sparking match to symbolize ”the spark of an idea” that is at the “heart and soul” of any business. In addition to starting a business, (when one is very “fired-up”), the flame honours the creative energy, entrepreneurial spirit, and the “fire in the belly” that people in business have (or need to have to stay in business).
The flame is “heart-shaped” to reflect the warmth, care, and attention that we at the Hinterland Business Centre bring to making creative, catalytic business connections across the Blackall Range and the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.
The “heart” is also meant to convey the embrace of a quadruple bottom line approach to the sustainability of communities across the Blackall Range and Sunshine Coast hinterland, as well as imply that we are the heart and soul of business in this region.
The “flaming sparking heart” also symbolizes what happens when a match makes a (catalytic) connection with the sandpaper. In a sense we are “matchmakers”.
